CanningHill Piers Site Plan
Located at Clarke Quay, CanningHill Piers is a brand new integrated development at a famous site along the Singapore River. Home to former Liang Court and Daimaru Superstore, leading developers City Development Limited and CapitaLand have joined forces to transform this prized land parcel into an iconic project comprising of premium residences, commercial establishments, an international hotel, and a serviced residence. Orientation of the Development
Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, this development is cleverly designed such that all 4 towers have different heights which help to maximize the views of the surroundings for the residential units. Firstly, the pair of residential towers on the CanningHill Piers Site Plan are of significantly different heights and face each other diagonally. The taller tower of 48-story stands at 180 meters which are almost double the height of the other residential tower of 24-story at 100 meters tall.
Secondly, the 2 towers are positioned to face each other diagonally with the taller tower facing the Singapore River and the lower one facing Fort Canning Park. Owing to the significant height difference and the diagonal facing, more apartments units have access to unblocked views of the scenic surroundings.
In addition, the architects have also created spacious blocks to block distancing to enable the development to have an atmosphere of openness and space. The 4 towers which comprise 2 residential buildings, Moxy Hotel and Somerset Serviced Residences, all sit above a 2-story commercial podium where F&B and retail establishments are located. At the center of the 4 towers is an open courtyard where residents and the public can enjoy ample communal spaces in the midst of beautiful landscapes.
Based on the CanningHill Piers Site Plan, the 4 towers are positioned at a good distance from one another. Coupled with the strategy of undulating towers of varying heights, the placement of the blocks jointly contributes to a spacious and refreshing living environment for the whole integrated development.
One of the important goals of the design is that the 4 towers are viewed as a unified development. To demonstrate oneness amongst the 4 towers, the architects have deployed a number of creative design strategies. Firstly, they have created an iconic link bridge between the 2 diagonally facing residential towers at level 24. Secondly, the architects at Bjarke Ingels Group have created an iconic “drape” façade to cover the 4 towers, unifying all of them as one development.
CanningHill Garden on Level 3
An oasis for recreation and relaxation, the CanningHill Piers Site Plan also offers a comprehensive range of facilities in 3 distinct levels of the development. The first group of facilities, CanningHill Garden, is located at level 3 of the towers. Focused on children, CanningHill Garden offers exciting outdoor play which includes many unique facilities by the design team.
These include Hammock Play, Splash Play, Balance Walk over a balance beam, Nest Play, Rope Climb, Ladder Play, and special Bouldering Walls for those who are seeking high adventure. Last but not least, for those who enjoy a morning or evening jog as part of their fitness routine, they can work out with ease in the outdoor jogging track without having to leave the development.
CanningHill Club on Level 24
One of the iconic features of this development is the unique link bridge between the 2 residential towers on level 24. The recreational facilities at this level are named CanningHill Club and comprise 3 groups of facilities – City Sanctuary, Sky Oasis, and Hill Resort.
